  "We (me, hubby, 4 yr old child) took a 3 day breather from the daily grind down to Laguna Beach and this was the perfect place to be. Ocean front, walking distance to everything, enough amenities to make stay great. It's NOT a luxury hotel, but they don't charge luxury hotel prices anyway, so it's OK...". We were pleasantly surprised that we got an adjoining room with 2 double beds in it, so our child who got a fever right when we got there, could sleep comfortably and her constant coughing didn't wake me and hubby up at night. Instead the sounds of the waves crashing lulled us to sleep :) There were a couple of glitches (staff was mostly friendly but for 1, the bathroom in the pool area was disgusting but it was not the hotel's fault-someone just went nuts with the t.p., and the bathroom kind of smelled but I just figured it's the beach plumbing -- rusty pipes. Pool and little sitting area above were great, only wish there was a hot tub. Room was clean, linens and towels were clean but you could tell they were used. It seems like they've been updating this hotel and it is very cute. My sister and I stayed 2 nights and we felt very safe and secure as there are gates. I'd highly recommend Travelodge Laguna Beach!   "We had a 3rd floor room with a partial ocean view, which was as good as it gets due to the road and other hotels being between us and the sea. However, we could see the ocean and waves breaking, so no complaints. the hotel is about 1.5 miles out from the centre of Laguna beach, which is a nice walk..." along the beach, and is surrounded by good restaurants and art galleries, also there is a nice Ralphs supermarket about half a mile away. There is free underground parking at the hotel with access to the lobby. The hotel feels a little old, with carpets, lift, pool area etc looking tired, the rooms are quite dark but spacious and comfortable. Our room came with a huge spa bath as well as shower and bathtub, and a nice balcony, although all rooms on the floor share the same elongated balcony around the property.
