"Thomas Wolfe once said that, "You can't go back home...to places in the country..."
Over ten years ago we stop at the Inn for lunch as a convenient stop between our journey between our home and the New York area. It was a nice and memorable lunch.
We had the same opportunity once again toda..."y in the Newtown, CT area and decided to stop at the Inn. We were not disappointed. My wife's chicken sandwich was a bit dry but still good. My turkey and bacon club was twice as much as I expected. We ended up taking the other half home along with the remainder of the fries.
The only other downside was that we waited about a half hour between our seating and our meal being delivered. But we did enjoy our lunch and came home rather nicely.

"Ok, I really dress up because of the prices online. I found the place to be a very casual place for the prices and wished I knew that before I dressed up, but rather be overdressed than under dress. The place was not fancy at all, not what I expected. But saying that the food was out of this worls. ..."I was a little upset because the menue that was on the website was changed a bit but the alternative which I had was out of this world. We also checked in with Yelp and received 20% off the bigg, a big deal as our bill was outrageous. Best Creme Brule I have had in a long time. The nice thing is if I went again, you can have from the bar menue and or the fine diing meanue. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Would go again, but next time its jeans and a nice sweater. We had the lanmb and it was very good. For starter I had the Polenta and mushroons and again, it was out of this world. They do have a good chef

"I was in Newtown for business reasons and a friend suggested staying at the Dana-Holcome house, which is right in the middle of town. I agreed and boy, was I surprised. The house itself is absolutely immaculate, the rooms are large, distinct and beautifully decorated. Though the architecture looks l..."ike it is an historic home, it was actually built recently, meaning all the plumbing, heat, appliances are new! Then you get a chance to meet John and Jane, who you will fall in love with. The breakfast each day is amazing and though this was winter, I could see that the grounds would be beautiful once things started blooming again.
In short, if you decide to stay here - for work or for holiday, I guarantee that you will be thankful you did! Enjoy!
