Some of them appear from the outside to be very well cared for in spite of their age, others look like low budget flophouses and some are literally near disintegration. The only two hotels in town of 'modern' construction are this Holiday Inn and the Hampton Inn. For this trip I wanted something reliable for my family and I also had Holiday Inn reward points to spend so we chose the HI Express. We had a pleasant, enjoyable stay. My big complaint with this and other Hampton Inns is their insistence on using a sheet and a heavy comforter for bed linens. Particularly in warm weather, the heavy comforter is totally impractical.
