  "I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the hotel was, given that it is almost literally at the airport. I arrived about midnight and called the hotel for the free 24-hour shuttle. It was an extremely quiet hotel. The room was clean, well-kept, with a comfortable bed. My room smelled a little bit musty, but it was in good repair. Nice television, mini-fridge, coffee pot. I didn't have a chance to eat at the hotel because of my schedule. I needed to arrange a late check-out the next day and the staff was great about it, telling me I could stay until 2 p.m. if necessary. When I checked out, the clerk at the front desk called a taxi to take me to my next location. Overall, a great spot if you need to be close to the airport. " More >

There are many restaurant choices in Portland so don't worry about food. Their free continental is one of the better I've seen. The room was very clean, had a small fridge and coffee maker and adequate toiletries. One odd thing was the height of the vanity in the bathroom. I'm short and I had to lean way over to reach it. Hardly a deal breaker. And the tub didn't drain well. Again, not a deal breaker for me but a little annoying. My room was paid for so I don't know the price. But I would definitely consider the Fireside when staying in Portland. " More >
