  "If you want to stay in the park your choices are limited. The unit we had at Halali was more spacious than the one at Okaukeujo and the kitchen better equipped. The facility was clean and the breakfast was well prepared and appetizing. "

  "The Fort is situated on the Onguma private reserve immediately to the east of Etosha itself. The reserve was originally part of the Etosha National Park. There is plenty of game on the reserve including a pride of lions, one of which woke us one night with a roar that we could swear was from one of ..."the sun loungers on our chalet's sun deck! The Fort is an outstandingly beautiful building in the Moroccan style as are the individual chalets. The main building is open plan with water flowing in many areas. There is a waterhole in front of the building where one can watch a variety of animals while one eats or relaxes. The only negative feature of the design is that the lighting in the chalets looks in keeping with the buildings design but is not very functional in its main purpose. Nearly all the staff were local and occasionally did not fully understand one's requests but were very willing nonetheless.   "We had a great time at Tented Camp - we had initially requested the Fort but it was unavailable due to renovation. Tented Camp turned out to be what we wanted - it affords privacy, overlooks an active watering hole, and luxurious clean accommodations. The tent has an outdoor (private) shower and a..." luxurious indoor bathtub (and another shower), and if you leave the curtains open at night, you might sit up and spot animals outside at the lit watering hole. If you need to reach back to civilization, the lodge offers free fast wireless, and it reaches to some of the tents. The food was delicious, and we appreciated the Saturday evening barbecue provided at a separate location. Plenty of wildlife on the Onguma grounds, or you can join one of the game drives (6 hours long!) to Etosha, bright and early while the light is still good (bring warm clothes though).
