  "I've been to a few ranches but never one so close to home so I thought I would try it. Let me start off by saying the grounds and rooms are kept up nicely. The front desk people( Peggy and Patients) were very pleasant and helpful and made the check in process easy. There are private chalets, single..." rooms and some dual family cabins. Riding is the main reason I went to the ranch although if you choose they have tennis, basketball, swimming and a few other activities. You have to sign up for the rides that they have which is by skill level. A beginner ride consists of walking for about one hour, An intermediate ride consisits of walking and two very short trots and then the experienced ride which is walking and running faster than in a John Wayne movie. I know how to ride and the type of running we did is not my idea of a safe enjoyable ride.   "I have been to Ridin-Hy Ranch no less than 15 times in the last 8 years. I would like to respond to a recently posted review, possibly the reviewer and I were at the ranch on the same weekend, and rode the same morning "experienced" ride. A few things to point out: 1. Not once in all of my..." trips to the ranch did I witness anything that was remotely unsafe other than the amounts of alcohol ingested by some guests. The cowboys, and horses are very well trained. I have never heard any complaints about the cowboys being less than completely safe. 2. The 8:30 morning ride and 1:30 afternoon ride are designated for "experienced" riders. The horses run, and they run fast but not that fast, if you had an issue on that ride (the real dusty one where people lost their hats) than maybe you need to re-assess your experience level.
