  "A classic stay in a Berber village"
  "My wife and I stayed at Kasbah Samra (just outside Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains) in May 2013. A traditional Berber guesthouse, this is different than you will find in other kasbahs and riads. Located in a small village outside Imlil, your luggage is taken a short distance down a hill to the k..."asbah -- which is traditional mud brick construction. The common rooms are decorated with low seats around a number small tables, with Moroccan rugs, pillows and coverings. The walls are rough mud, with enclaves for beautiful lanterns (for candles). Everything is rustic looking but exudes charm and character. Most rooms do not have electricity though you can get rooms (for more money) with electricity. Our room was small but clean and nicely appointed, with a small balcony that overlooked the village -- with amazing views of the High Atlas Mountains. Our room had good views of Toubkal but was below garden level so felt a bit sub terranean. However the balcony was lovely and the Berber mats and bedcovers were beautiful.Apart from the views, the highlights were a) the very friendly and helpful staff who always had a smile and often a joke too and b) my trekking guide, Abdulasalam. He was extremely good - courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable about flora and fauna too. He was very happy to talk about the Berber way of life and how his own family lived.
