  "We have been visiting Scilly for many years and still feel St. Martins and the Hotel is a special place. We love the informality of the Hotel and the whole experience and especially the Tean restaurant in the evening. Fine dining but not pretentious and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. ..."I don't eat puddings but I always ask for and get a beautifully presented fruit platter which is divine and very much my kind of dessert.   "As a potential wingco type ( I actually am not one) I have stayed at this hotel on and off for the last 25 years. I can appreciate a one- off traveller thinking it is a bit of a club but what do you expect when 80% of the visitors are like me regulars who enjoy the location, food , and the calm effi..."cient and understated management. If you have a pressurised life there is no better place to stay and unwind.The only criticism I have ,which has nothing to do with the hotel, is dealing with The Scilly Steamship Co who now the helicopter service has been cancelled presumably can take their previous uncaring attitude to a higher level. Incidentally the two very critical reviews where people allegedly stayed in December and before the 6th March 2012 are way off beam as the hotel does not open until the late Spring.Believe me, and I am not a friend or relative of the management, this is a great place to stay.
