Check out time was later than normal so we took the opportunity to head out to Old Halls Creek and the attractions between that and Halls Creek proper and were still in time. We had hea..."rd all sorts of stories about Halls Creek and found them unfounded. The residential noise around is less than other settlements of the type and the amenities were most adequate. We would certainly stay here again if we were passing through, but then quite frankly, there is not a lot of choice. We paid $32. " More >

  "The restaurant is open to the public, it is separate from the hotel. It is quite an oasis after being out in the hot sun all day. There is an outside deck but that seemed to be more for people having a pre meal drink. The staff were efficient, some were overseas students travelling around Australia..." but the two Chinese girls serving were very good and knew their work. The meals were very good and not the type usually found in the outback pubs. The restaurant was full as there were two bus loads of tourists staying at the hotel. As our 2 1/2 year old grand daughter sang a few nursery rhymes for the staff (and probably half the restaurant) she was rewarded with an large lip smacking icecream so she considers the staff her best friends.
