"I stayed here recently for two nights due to business in Norfolk. On arrival (the main hotel reception is at the rear I believe) I was greeted and served in reception. I found there is parking on street opposite but soon discovered the well sized car park around the back. Good for security and acces..."s.
The room (named, rather than numbered) was a good size with an amazingly soft double bed and I think feather duvet. Decor was cosy but also clean and modern. Room cleaned/replenished during the day.
My favourite part of experience staying there was the restaurant, which was connected to but a good distance from the pub/bar area to keep the atmosphere and ambience separate. The service was quick, food was superb - and prices very reasonable (expect to pay around £15 for a main, £4/6 for a desert). After dinner you can retire to the pub/bar areas which are split by the bar serving counter. Breakfast was included in the price of the room; I had the 'Great British' I believe it was list...

"About a year ago we visited the Rose and Crown and were not happy with our experience. We went there for lunch today with friends and had an excellent meal. Instead of sitting in the rather clinical conservatory we were seated in the cosy bar. My complaint last time that instead of hand cut chips as..." advertised we were given French fries. Enough of last time here is today's review; I had Cajun chicken and pulled pork burger. It was enormous. Between two slices of ciabatta or focaccia was, leaves, tomato and pickle then a chicken breast with shredded pork on top. Then a slice of cheese and finally 3 large battered onion rings. There was a pot with refried beans and a small dish of wedges. I tried my best but there was too much to finish it all. Two of my friends had the chilli beef stir fry which had lots of spicy beef. The other two had fish and chips which again was a large portion. Finally the last person in our party had the gammon which they said was very good.
The staff were very f...

"We have just returned from an overdue visit to Norfolk and chose The Rose and Crown to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. We stayed for three nights. Imagine how we felt when we were given the Pavilion with it's specially adapted facilities for the disabled! I have to say that we are not quite r..."eady for a reminder of what might be in store for us. That aside the strength of this hotel is in it's staff particularly the staff serving in the Cellar restaurant and in the breakfast room. I hope that they are appreciated by management.
The menu is a bit limited but the food is well presented. My husband was disappointed on Thursday evening which was his birthday. He ordered hake which was over cooked and the potatoes were under cooked. The breakfasts are to be recommended. Perfectly cooked, perfectly presented and perfectly served. Thank you.
