  "My wife and I flew into Shelter Cove as the first stop on a week long getaway through the wine country of Sonoma Valley. We tied the plane down not 250 yards from the Oceanfront Inn and walked over. We were greeted very warmly and when we entered our room we fell in love with the place. The room ..."was simple and very clean, with a King size bed which was the most comfortable we experienced on the whole journey. Stepping out onto the balcony we were treated to an expansive view of the rugged coast, and a neat little inlet right at our feet. Sea Otters were cavorting around in the water, and just off shore we saw Grey whales passing by on their way North. The Inn has a tidy little restaurant that serves well prepared food, although nothing spectacular.   "This place is like staying at your "well-to-do" friend's house while they are away. It is not only gorgeous but spotless - OH and I mean SPOTLESS. I have never seen any "hotel" room that clean. The tub even glimmered. There are only 4 rooms which makes it even better, it is so personal. A Jac..."uzzi (separate bath tub in the bathroom) in the living room so you can sit in it and look out the window at the beautiful ocean and cliffs. There we lots and lots of magazines about the area and things to do, they left snacks for us along with water in the frig. Great owners, they really care!! " More >

  "Good option in Shelter Cove if you don't want an ocean front or ocean view---rooms are clean and comfortable. There will be plenty of deer surrounding your room starting about dusk. We spent most of our time at the black sand beach and down at the tide pools so this was a great location for us."
