  "We stayed at the Zanzibar Hotel in Hastings at the end of April to visit the new modern Jerwood Gallery. Having searched for a hotel, we finally decided on the Zanzibar as it was close to the gallery and the Old Town and was classed as a boutique hotel, rather than a B&B of which there are hundreds ..."in Hastings. It is situated on the sea front in a 6-floor terraced building and is a super hotel with an excellent restaurant - Pier Nine, a great chef, a wonderful terrace and bar and staff who were lovely. We needed a twin bedded room and the only one available was on the 5th floor (no lift). The climb is not for the faint-hearted but our luggage was taken up by one of the staff to a room that was very luxurious with jacuzzi bath and a great choice of coffee, tea (real milk!) etc and our stay included a complimentary drink on arrival, a newspaper delivered in the morning along with the day's weather forecast.
