Bed comfortable and facilities in the room basic but for what we paid were fine. The wedding was off site but the reception w..."as at the hotel. The location is really nice and the hotel itself and the grounds are very well kept. A very good country house hotel. Service throughout the afternoon and evening was excellent, food was good and a bacon butty at 9pm was a nice touch. Bar prices were reasonable. A very nice experience and I would be happy for my Daughters weddings receptions to be held here. " More >

  "This is a really lovely hotel. The location is superb. The food is excellent and the ladies that serve at lunchtime are just wonderful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The whole building has been sympathetically cared for and all the period features retained. The grounds a..."re absolutelly stunning. SO why haven't I given it a five. I am probably being a bit mean to be honest. But, there was just one thing that really annoyed me. My room overlooked a courtyard where the kitchen staff went to smoke. It was lovely warm, spring weather and I wanted to have the window open but their slightly crude conversation and smoke came wafting in - right up to 10.30 at night. A small thing I know, but it just ever so slightly spoilt my stay. " More >
