  "I was planning a trip through Hell's Canyon with some friends and in need of someplace to stay. I called the Lodge and told them my needs and they put together a group of rooms for me. The woman I spoke to even held the reservation while I called my friends to make sure this was what we needed. Th..."e Lodge has very lovely surroundings - the river roars right outside and my son enjoyed watching the deer feed. Our room was clean and in good repair. I really appreciated the fan in the room. Other old lodges I've stayed at have been somewhat sketchy - dark and gloomy, smelly, no water pressure, etc. The lobby is inviting, though we didn't end up having time to enjoy it. We had breakfast in the dining room before we checked out. It took quite awhile for our food to come from the kitchen but it was good and we got lots of coffee refills! The Wifi worked surprisingly well and we didn't miss TV at all. We would definitely stay here again. " More >

Scott has made huge improvements since his purchase of the property, which are obvious both inside the cabins and outside the grounds. The icing on the cake was when my wife realized she had left a favorite pillow in the room when we were half way home. She called Scott when we got home and to her delight, they had found the pillow and were able to give it to one of our friends who were still at the motel. They made the connection which was very much appreciated. We will be back next year and maybe sooner for a little fishing. Check it our sometime!! " More >

  "We stayed here for 3 nights for a little trip after I graduated from Eastern Oregon university. Originally we were only going to stay two nights but I called about a week before and talked with Scott. He said he would have to call me back and he did less than a few hours later and said that he had g..."ot us another cabin right next door for the additional night. If he hasn't, we probably wouldn't have only ended up staying for 2 nights. The cabins were perfect for us. They aren't stand alone units like I thought but all have big decks and updates. Scott checked on us a few times during our stay and was always so friendly and willing to help. They even brought us a wagon to help move our stuff next door! The place was very clean and always smelled of pinesol. It was a pleasure staying and we'll definitely be back! " More >
