By the time we stopped it was almost 11:00 p.m., and we did not want to spend a lot of money for a room for several hours of rest, so we decided to give Howard Johnson a try. We were pleasantly surprised...." Our room was clean. The bathroom was clean. The refrigerator was empty and clean. The tv worked. The air-conditioning worked. Too bad that the pool was empty and had garbage thrown in it. That was the only negative. A nice treat was that breakfast was included. There was a "make your own waffle" iron, lots of cold cereals. Bagels and muffins, and oatmeal, as well as coffees and a variety of tea. The breakfast area was clean and continually stocked. We have no hesitation in recommending a stay here. " More >

  "Pulling a U-Haul trailer, we stopped on the way from FL to NC. On check-in the desk clerk noted the trailer and made sure we had a room near a truck/trailer parking area. Good idea. The inn was quite busy, but our room was quiet. The rooms do show a bit of age, but altogether seemed clean and comfor..."table, as was the rest of the property. Breakfast (buffet style) was typical of many offered these days by Best Western and other motels along the roads. There were plenty of alternatives from which to choose and a kitchen staff person was constantly in attendance, making sure nothing ran out. We did not look for any nearby eateries, but assume there are some. A restaurant actually is on the Best Western premises, but was not open when we pulled in around 10 p.m. " More >
