  "Just returned from our 2nd visit to Gartmore House and once again thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. The staff even recognised us from before and made us feel very welcome. The evening meal was excellent, we started with pate, oatcakes and salad and chutney, then we upgraded to the steak with ch..."ips and tomato and garlic butter, then we had a cheeseboard. The meal was very appetising and presented very well. Only down side was it was too much for us but that is not a complaint. Our room was massive with 4 beds in it with chairs, wardrobes and tables and dressing table which was extremely clean. Kettle with complementary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits and mints in room also. Bath with shower was excellent with plenty of towels and hot water. Heating in room was also excellent. Bar prices are not too expensive especially being a hotel.
