We were a little dubious about finding both of those things in such a small panhandle town as Childres..."s, but are delighted to say that the Holiday Inn Express was clean and comfortable AND welcoming of our dogs, with a $25 pet fee. The hotel sits in a sort of field away from other buildings--execpt that you have to drive through the Walmart parking lot to get there--so it's quiet and has plenty of room to walk the dogs. The room was large and comfy, and the staff was super friendly. You get your choice of a snack (candy/chips) plus free bottled water and cookies on check-in. The free breakfast was better than most, with scrambled eggs and sausage and, of course, biscuits and gravy available. My only minor quibble is that the pillows were a little on the puny side. We confirmed the rooms with Gilbert the week of ...the check in went smoothly since we were all arriving at different times due to travel distances. They gave us a meeting r..."oom to gather late at night.....and always access to the pool and hot tub. The rooms were out of this world nice and the in room fridges allowed us a place to store our "spirits". We had key issues...but they were so kind about it...and always apologized. Breakfast was more than you could ask for......with so many selections.....We thank you for all you did for us and made the wedding even more perfect!!!!!!!! " More >
