While Applewood Manor doesn't offer the beach at Capjuluca on Anguilla or the walk-in shower at Amangari, it was, on balance, one of the most pleasant stays at a hotel that I have ever experienced. Arriving a few hours early and before being joined by my son and his girlfriend, I was greeted warmly by Nancy who made me a pot of tea to enjoy as I relaxed in the library. Both rooms were very well-appointed and comfortable, and the breakfast the next morning was simply outstanding.
