It's on a corner very conveniently located to the main part of Middlebury, but situated on a lovely lot with lots of green (and probably lots of color in the fall) so that you get a country-ish feeling. The Swift Room is beautiful and well-maintained with a large bathroom and, a special extra touch, a nice-sized balcony (with table and two chairs) off of the bathroom. The room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The main floor areas are also lovely, including the spacious dining room with views of the outside. The dining room was very busy at breakfast but Michele took the time to warmly welcome and chat with each guest.   "I love the Middlebury Inn. It is like stepping back into the 19th century. While I would not say it is one of the most modern hotels I have visited, it is a true Vermont experience. However, I would only get a room in the main inn building. The rooms in the newly built area resemble a motor inn!"
