  "I was in Marion, VA for work last week and needed a place to stay. I generally stay in the Hampton Inn in Abingdon, but due to their renovations, that was not available. I don't like some of the 'off brand' less expensive hotels, so I saw the General Francis Marion Hotel listed. I read through th..."e reviews and decided to give it a try. It is a fabulous find. The rooms have been updated and despite staying in the smallest room in the hotel, it was plenty roomy for one person, with a very large bathroom. It is clean and 'well-appointed' in every way. The staff is wonderful as well. I ate at the hotel restaurant/bar and the food was very good. I had a cajun chicken dish with rice and veggies and it was an excellent meal. The hotel rates are very reasonable. I saw another woman at the work event and mentioned I had stayed at this hotel, while she stayed at a less expensive hotel. When she found out the rates, she was disappointed she didnt stay there, but she will next time...an... " More >
