Publix 10 min, Starbucks 10 min, taco bell etc. Depending the traffic the beach is appr. 30-35 min . But sometimes we took 25 minutes to Coquina Beach. Cocuiqna beach is a nice..." beach also for fishing ( at the other site of the road ). Good cycling possibilities( along the Islands) , nice quality bikes to rent at "Ringling Cycles" ( 15- 20 minutes drive). Ellenton mall 15 min. drive, Sarasota 25-30 minutes drive ( Sarasota Square Mall), Brandon Mall ( with Abercrombie and fitch /Hollister) 45 minutes, Tampa less than an hour. Very good running routes, run out on the site exit of the community and you will walk in a natural environment without to much traffic . We had a nice and wonderful time, the only disadvantage I can think off is the distance to the beach. The location is some what convenient for using the riverwalk to get to the "downtown" area. The beds are extra firm.
