It's NOT a place to stay if you are planning on exploring Bali/Ubud every day. Honestly, in order to make the most of this place, you need to stay within the premises and take full advantage of the amenities on offer. There's really not a lot more I can say than repeat and highlight the other great things that the other TripAdvisor contributors here have said about this place.   "This place is exceptionally unique. The building is a Balinese palace, with marble construction and minimalist design, smooth grand space, cool and quiet. The bedrooms in which you stay are enormous, elegant and spacious. We had the honeymoon suite, only a bed and two designer chairs and ample room,..." with a bedside table on either side of the bed. All white and marble, no busy design, wild colors, or intricate detail. A separate room down a long hallway has a kitchen, dining area, small fridge, desk and is so large it would easily offer an area for children to sleep or another adult. One evening we had the feast of Balinese food with many dishes, all local and fresh (be sure to come hungry). A flat fee of $20 includes the whole meal, served family style. We were incredibly grateful for a detailed map, drawn by others who have stayed before us, of the way to get to the gorgeous swinging bridge and the famous huge banyan tree in the area, about 30 minutes away.
