This is not a hotel, not even a commercial ryokan, this is an historic place, with a few rooms where the owners welcome guests in an atmosphere of nobility. And everything was accordingly, the highest standard of comfort, wonderful food, and then the onsen !   "We (3 friends) have been to this beautiful ryokan in November 2012. We came from Tokyo, were on the way to Kyoto and followed the recommendation of a Japanese friend to stay at this place. Staying here is just a little detour when travelling from Tokyo to Kyoto. A ryokan is very traditional and int..."eresting for foreigners. It is an incredibly unique experience to stay at such a nice accomodation. The floor of our room was covered with the traditional tatami mats, the view into the garden was amazing: colorful maple trees and a small pond. The onsen was a big hot bath made of dark stone (showers are also in there) and is fed by a natural spring. When we arrived, people were very nice and welcomed us with green tea in our room. Onsens usually are scheduled for ladies and gentlemen, but this place reserves the bath roomwise. After our first bath, we relaxed in our room. Unfortunately, no beds were there yet.
