It may seem a little out of the way but we visited all the major towns in Lake Como and were so glad we stayed where we did. The other..." places are easily accessible by train (5-10min) and ferry, but this village is so magical. We had a great relaxing time. The accommodation is very nice, our room was HUGE and very very clean. And the breakfast was yummy! The most fantastic part of the experience was the lovely hosts. Ana Lisa is the most wonderful host we have ever come across. I had a small medical issue and she helped me find the right hospital, drove me an hour each way to get there and even helped translate for me with the doctor. She was so kind and generous with her time and went waaaaay beyond her call of duty. I will never forget her hospitality! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. " More >

  "Great campsite, great location, one of the best!"
  "Stayed in one of the campsite's bungalows while on holidays at Lake Como during the summer. Basic but perfect for what we wanted. Everything was very clean and new enough. The campsite was full when we were here yet it never felt too noisy or over crowded. Receptionist was very helpful and friendly...." This campsite is right on the Lake so you just have to look out the bungalow/ tent door and you have the most amazing view! The showers and toilet were always spotless. The only bad thing was that it was 50c for 3 mins of hot water in the showers and if you needed another 3mins you had to get out of the shower and go out and put another 50c in the machine, which I found kind of annoying. There is a bar connected to the campsite, which is right on the lake.Staff here were great and gave me tips on my Italain;) This bar was always busy as it is open to the public aswel. We got talking to some of the locals down here, which was nice. The food was fine but would recommend going to il Vucolo... " More >

Very quick response (I planned a spontaneous trip the day before, but received a reply within a few hours!!) and a personal touch all the way through. From the initial email communication we felt welcome, then going to her recommended restauran..."t (still haven't met them at this stage) to finally arriving at their little castle - like a dream.
