We found our room immaculately prepared, with particular attention to cleanliness and added details such as local flowers in the room and bath just for our arrival. The variety of food, while not high gourmet, is a nice selection of Dominican offerings as well as more traditional American fare.   "Attracted by the good things we had heard from friends who recently stayed here, we just returned from a week's visit (mid-April, 2013) and absolutely did not want to leave. Starting with the hotel van pickup at the airport in Puerto Plata, complete with cooler of ice cold Presidente, the hour and ..."a half drive to the hotel passed quickly and provided a good introduction to the local scenery. The hotel is located on a mountain side overlooking the Atlantic and provided spectacular views from almost any vantage point. Check in was a breeze. A couple of minor glitches with the room were attended to swiftly and efficiently. We had a king-bed double room on the second (top) floor of the hotel, with a balcony and a gorgeous view over the gardens and hillside out to the ocean. The room was clean and comfortable, likewise the entirely adequate bathroom (shower only).
