  "When you stay in these apartments you can use all the facilities of the Sol La Palma hotel itself, so it is a good idea to read the reviews for that as well. The complex is large, as the photos show, and it is superbly located on a small peninsula next to the beach. There are excellent facilities, ..."and it is just a five minute walk into Puerto Naos where there is a good Spar supermarket, good bakery, and several restaurants. There are two pools - the upper one does not get as much sun as the lower one so the water is warmer in the lower pool. The latter is a really nice place to sit and watch the sun go down. It is also on the edge of the cliffs, so some of the waves land with a crash, sending spray right up in the air. In its heyday the whole complex would have been superb. It is now getting a bit dated and in need of a bit of TLC and upgrade. As you go around you see plaster coming away in places, and cracked tiles. Seriously, it's a really nice hotel, not overly manicured, but totally acceptable with lovely staff and a very good location on the west coast where you can expect great sunsets. On the eastern coast holidaymakers will lose the sun probably 2 hours before it sets due to the mountains running down the island. Puerto Naos is a 'real' town and not unattractive. It will be enhanced considerably when the new promenade, linking the hotel to the bars etc, is finished. Food is good, buffet style and the rooms are fine, although we spoilt ourselves with a superior room (324), which had a ginormous balcony with great views.
