  "Plan to Stay at Corte Gondina Again"
  "I chose the hotel because of the central location of La Morra to Barola and Alba. I booked three nights directly with the hotel. For the first time in over 20 years when I arrived at 6pm after a long drive from Switzerland I was told first by the polite receptionist and then her boss that my room ..."had plumbing problems and I could not stay there. Normally, I am polite but I was not happy. It was the only sunny hour in the three days and the weather forecast was bleak for the next few days and all I wanted was to settle into my reserved room. No choice I was ushered down a hill to a B&B. I don't like B&B's generally, this one was all right but no great view. The next morning I got soaked in the rain and carted my luggage back up the hill and tried to check in. I was told it would be another 2 hr wait but that turned into 1.5 hrs. The hotel has great reviews, a lovely garden and fantastic staff. Those are major reasons for booking three nights and trying to explain that shif... " More >
