Our accomodation was in the bungalows which had 2bedrooms, a living area with kitchenette and a shower room/toilet. Outside of the bungalow, we had a porch with table and chairs which was extrem..."ely comfortable for having breakfast in the fresh sea air. We were a group of 19 people. 8 adults and 11 children. Our primary concern was that the kids would not feel constrained by a hotel room when returning to the accomodation. This was easily achieved at La Focetta since the Camp is very well sized. There is a lot of open space and also, very easy access to the beach. The bungalows themselves are also very comfortable. While we rented a car and traveled (with suggestions and guidance from Salvo and Debora) to Taormina, Palermo, Catania, Syracuse and other cities and villages, our stay with this family was the highlight! Sal..."vo and Debora were very sensitive to our personal time but also open to 'engagements' for introductions, stories and visits regarding Sicily. Their hospitality with fruits and lemons, cannoli, home-made wine, walnut schnapps, Sicilian barbeque treats, and fresh from the garden produce were way beyond the call of rental duties. Salvo and Debora are salt-of-Sicilian people with a love for the land and culture. Their daughter was a disciplined treat to visit, laugh with and just enjoy. Two of us, both artists, even worked with Salvo on a four foot sculpture of a female figure from a piece of lemon wood cut from the planting of Salvo’s grandfather 50 years ago!   "Fabulous location for Capo dei Greci resort - even if we failed entrance from "strada statale 114", 2 times, :-) in both directions (entrance hidden by vegetation). But once broke in, I discovered an oasis of beauty and vegetation. Unfortunately, in September 2012 (and probably due to crisis) just o..."ne restaurant from 5 was open, disco closed, no much entertainment opportunities inside. Of great help was shuttle bus that took us up to Taormina and back (for which you must register at reception the evening before). No beach nearby hotel – but who cares? Using a lift and walking through a tunnel carved in rock (spectacular) can reach a very nice and large wooden platform (sustained by steel reinforced - thus very safe) with umbrellas, chaise, showers, restrooms, lifeguard and bar (bar also closed at that time) with stairs descending directly to water. Water – absolutely gorgeous!!. No problem that there was no sandy beach, considering the beauty of the area and also the existing beache... " More >
