Its slightly away from the streets of Puerto Colombia across a stream, but the beautifully maintained spacious gardens make it feel like another world. As with the town the check-in is a pretty laid back affair. The rooms are simple and clean, with A/C and satelite tv, and each has a hammock outside which is a nice touch. There is a generator for when the inevitable power failure occurs, so you are never really inconvenienced by it. Breakfast is typically Venezuelan, with some juice, coffee, fruits and arepas. The setting for breakfast in the garden is a great relaxing way to start your relaxing day. All in all a great place to stay in Choroni! " More >

  "We spent three nights in Cachama Negra the week befor Semana Santa (Holy Week) and cannot recommend it enough. For us, it was perfect; quiet, clean, comfortable and only 10 minutes from Playa Grande and the Malecon. Andre, the owner and the host, was very knowledgeable about the area and helped us o..."n several occasions with questions about dining, sightseeing, and so on. His advice was always right on the money. Other posadas in the area have more amenities, such as swimming pools, but really ... what's the point of paying for that when you have the Caribbean and Playa Grande right at hand?   "Stayed there for four days in May 2013. It is a nice posada with nine rooms and a garden with a swimming pool. The rooms are nice (without being exceptional) and clean. There is also a nice swimming pool in the garden. The posada doesn't have a restaurant but there is a kitchen (that one can appare..."ntly use) and they serve a very nice coffee in the morning. Also, there is a restaurant literally next door. Note that it is just outside Puerto Colombia and it takes around 10 minutes walking to get to the centre of the village (or a few minutes by car). Finally, one thing that can be of importance is that they have a generator for when the electricity goes down (which is helpful as power shortage may happen). " More >
