Tipping culture puts tight Brits off US travel
April 19, 2011
A recent survey has revealed that 22% of Brits avoid travelling to the United States because they are expected to tip.
The survey was conducted by travel web site TripAdvisor. They quizzed close to 6,000 European travellers about their tipping habits and discovered that the Brits were by far the most uncomfortable with the practice. 8% of the Brits surveyed said that tipping had 'ruined' their holiday.
