Very nice surroundings, excellent choices. Good service. Portions are very large (but good quality) so really think about what you are ordering and how hungry you are! More

Second visit was on a the Sunday lunch time with friends, the pub was very busy with families but the service was excellent and the staff attentive. I can recommend the... More

Nipped in for a pint and ended up eating the two course set menu. Food very good if slightly under seasoned (bit more salt in the mash please) and fish slightly dry (the white fish under the excellent and very tasty salmon) Limited choice of mains (2) for the set menu but very intelligently chosen to cater for most tastes... Very difficult to produce excellant food and keep that standard but the 'Rosie' is going from strength to strength and delivering this! Fabulous lunches which not only are eye appealing but mouthwatering and full of flavours, I just can't wait to revisit, it's what an English pub in winter is all about, great food and beers, enjoy More

However objective achieved. I had heard in the past that this was a great place to go and everyone... More

I was advised to try this pub by the owner of the Guest House I am staying at in Plymouth. It was a 20 minute drive and on my way I was thinking 'this had better be good'. Well, the Rose and Crown is absolutely superb. From the moment of walking through the front door the whole experience was excellent.... More

We aren't locals and found the Rose and Crown by accident. Food was very good and great value for money. Surroundings well done and supported by very good and very clean bathrooms. The only reason I've rated this very good rather than excellent is that the service was very good but slow. I appreciate that Sunday lunch is very popular... More
