I loved it here. I did come with a preconception that it might be expensive but lacking in quality but that really wasn't true at all. Granted, it was probably the most expensive meal we had in Havana but the quality was relative to the price. We did have cheaper meals which were equally as high standard but you also... More

Getting out of a taxi to a bunch of men standing at the door of a dimly lit building is a little intimidating. Do it at 9pm & as a solo female traveller & you might consider getting back in the taxi. If you did the latter you would miss out on a truly beautiful experience. A piece of stunning... More

Me and my husband ate here early June. The food overall was ok, starters very much over priced 8CUC but I have to say the fish tacos were to dye for. Mains were ok and the desserts ok. The restaurant has good atmosphere and the building inside is nice as many say and I think for cuba this is quite... More

..this restaurant really lives up to its reputation and the entrance is an experience on its own! ..arriving by taxi and being left outside this dilapidated building made us wonder if the driver had made a mistake ! a run down courtyard with winding stairway leads you up to the main door of this excellent restaurant full of character and... I had heard about this years ago and forgotten it existed until we finally made it to Cuba in May and stumbled into it. We managed to get seated for dinner without a reservation with a wait of about 20 minutes so were lucky and it is worth asking! Really worthwhile, the building is extraordinary and make for a great... More

We thought this was a must to try. Wasted evening. Others were more exciting, tastier and better value. We usually review meals (good or not) in detail. This time we'd rather not waste our time. Dull..in fact we've largely forgotten itThey really need to sharpen up. Maybe they just trade on visits by beyonce - yes...that did influence us as... More

I was very pleased to see that the paladar was still as ordinary and real-life as the time of filming Fresa y Chocolate. After entering and confirming reservations with the man at the door, we walked up the stairs 2 flights. Midway, the stairs gave way to a communal area where kids were catching cool air on the balconies and... More

Loved it from the minute I walked into the crumbling yet full of character building. Service was awesome and the food was a delight. Really enjoyed it from start to finish. More like this please!

First time I gave this legendary restaurant a try, the food was mediocre. We all have bad days. On my return, I tried a different dish . It again was mediocre and the folks who were with me were underwhelmed. The prices are and service are moderate, and so is the quality of food .

"At last..." we cry as we take our first mouthful - "...SEASONING!" Most meals in Cuba we had were unseasoned, bland and overcooked (Cubans really need to learn how to cook their lobster). La Guarida was recommended to us by a friend and we're so glad we went. Food was very tasty and inventive. The setting was great, in an... More
