I have gone here many times over the last 10 years and always return when I am in Old San Juan. The food is traditional Puerto Rican with some regular American (good hamburgers). The service is quick and friendly, and the place is colorful and decorated with local art. Would recommend to anyone looking for a tasty, fairly priced meal... more

We stayed on Vieques for a week in May, but flew up to Old San Juan for a day. We came across El Patio de Sam in the early afternoon and ate in their air conditioned indoor patio. The food was incredible, the service was prompt and all smiles, and the atmosphere was beautiful! We read about it in our guidebook and are so glad we tracked it down!
