We are on our 5th tripto St. John but this was the first time at La Tapa. What a wonderful experience. I've always questioned the location being right on a busy corner with a lot of car dust and fumes but was I wrong. We ate inside to avoid the car fumes so you really weren't aware of the outside.... more

My wife and I just returned from our 4th trip to St John and of course had to return for a meal at La Tapa. We have always had great experiences here and this time was no different. The restaurant is located streetside and cars do come by in a steady stream but we seem to enjoy the island atmosphere... more

We ate here twice, First night food was good and service ok. the Second Night food was OK and service was better. The food is more prepared than most of the other restraunts in twon. The location right on the street is not favorable for this type of restraunt, i also felt the retraunt was not friendly as other restraunts. more

We dined at La Tapa on two occasions last week. The food was outstanding both times. Most of us had Mahi-Mahi on the first visit, which was encrusted with potatoes and it was the best piece of fish I've had in a long, long time. Some of us had "Pasta Tommy" as well.
