I recently stayed at the hotel with a colleague and we were very pleased with the friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant. A huge portion of smoked salmon, followed by Monkfish wrapped in bacon. Delicious.
It was such a shame that we didn't get much of a chance to take in the local...

Had salmon to start - lots of it and very yummy. Monkfish wrapped in bacon for main - this was delicious, cooked really well with a gorgeous shrimp sauce. Vegetables cooked just the way I like - not overcooked but not too raw. Good choice on the menu too.

Took the family and grandparents to Tyme restaurant for Sunday lunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food and wines are excellent. For me you cant beat Beef and Yorkshire pudding but others also enjoyed the most delicious pate ever following by fresh salmon. The staff are very attentive, they gave excellent service and created a very friendly atmosphere to ensure...

I had booked an evening meal here to celebrate my 50th birthday. After looking on the Internet I chose Trimstone Manor because it looked "classy" and somewhere a bit different. The first problem was trying to park the car as the car park was full and had to resort to parking on the grass verge on the main road although...

Dear Tessiefw
Thank you for your comments following your visit. Of course, I am sorry that not everything was absolutely right for you.
I am sorry about parking and directions - you should have asked as whilst the Hotel was full that night, you could have parked out the front or even the top carpark rather than on our quiet...

Wonderful setting, excellent hospitality and an innovative menu - we dined at The America's themed evening and throughly enjoyed. My dessert of peanut butter ice cream pie was just glorious! I understand there are more themed evenings coming up soon too - a great idea for a fun evening out.

The first thing to say is that Trimstone Manor is in a really beautiful setting in the North Devon countryside. We went there for a themed evening entitled 'The Americas' and thought it was wonderful. From the bison meat starter to the cajun-rub salmon to the New York style cheesecake, it was all really delicious and very well cooked. The...

We dined here this evening and, sadly, all we can say is that it was disappointing. The food was bland and unattractive, lacking in presentation, flavouring and was overcooked. The venue is in a lovely location and the staff were helpful. The decor was a bit tired. The menu was limited to a fixed dinner with no a la carte...

Dear London September
Thank you for your review. Naturally we are sorry you were disappointed with your experience.
I do not know what you chose to eat but actually, for a treat, we were enjoying a couple of friends' company in the Restaurant ourselves that evening! It was a special menu based on "The Americas" as a theme for that...

Thoroughly enjoyable altogether.
My fiancee and I went for a meal here, the approach to the Manor and Restaurant is easily accessible down a short beautiful country lane just off the main road.
We had a friendly greeting and ordered some drinks and handed a menu.
The order was taken from us in a friendly and timely manner.
We were...

Dear John
Just a short note to thank you very much for your kind comments. i am glad you had a good experience with us here at Tyme Restaurant.. Have to admit to an unusual thing today - that I treated myself and a business acquaintance for lunch and don't have any regrets either - even if my views might...

We had been planning to visit Trimstone Manor for some time as it looked interesting. Apparently it was updated in 1976 so there were no disabled toilets for the restaurant. Access was also difficult.
We arrived in the rain and the front porch was dangerously wet. We entered the restaurant for lunch. It was old fashioned but that was in...

Sorry to disappoint you when you called-in on spec the other Sunday. Incidentally, the Hotel was created in 1976, extended in 1986 and we've spent a very substantial amount on improvements since we acquired it in 2007 - it's a constant job!
We do have 'disabled access' to the toilets - all you needed to have done was ask but...
