I have dined at Tortuga for many years and at times it can be one of the top establishments in Acapulco. It's shortcomings are noticable whenever all of the tables are occupied. The food at La Tortuga is great! The shrimp was incredible, and the Red Snapper was prepared perfectly. We were told about the place from our driver Jose, and it was down the road from our Hotel the Villa Vera, so very convenient. Yes, the place is small, but the service and food easily make up for it. Even though we didn't speak spanish, the waiter was extremely helpful and helped us choose a delicious meal. Dined here in Jan. 2009 after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. Everything was true. Can't say enough about how excellent the food was. I had Garlic Shrimp.. The waitor was extemely helpful in advising us. It is a small but very clean space. You'll be in for an unexpected surprise! more

I dined at this establishment this week and was disappointed. The service was very poor and the owner just sat on his butt and did nothing to do to help the only waiter in the premise. The food was nothing exceptional and they charge 50 pesos for a glass of jug wine. Way overpriced. more
