I had this place on my "to do list" while in Playa. We were interested in the fruit drinks that others had raved about and let us say..... they are worth the trip. The Smoothies at Nativo are totally addicting. Literally, everyday I walked miles to/from to get a Smoothie. I loved the Chocolate/Banana/Yogurt combination or the Strawberry/Banana/Yogurt. One day I wasn't feeling well, so I decided that I needed extra Vitamin C and I ordered Strawberry/Banana/Orange/Pineapple/Yogurt. The Smoothies are gigantic and very reasonable. El Nativo is a great find if you're in Playa Del Carmen. The food is such a great value! You get a full meal for between $3-$6. That's hard to beat in a place as touristy as Playa. I ate here pretty frequently during my 5 weeks in Playa. Their smoothies really are the best in town, and the restaurant... more

El Nativo is off the touristy trek of Avenue 5 and is located farther in town near the Walmart-like store, Megga (not to be confused with the actual Walmart farther down); it is directly across the street from a darling local grocery and spice market. My friend and I both became very ill after sharing an omelet at El Nativo. The third person in our group did not eat at El Nativo and did not become severely ill. I would NEVER eat at this place again. more

You always pay more on Quinta as the rents are higher. El Nativo is a 10 minute walk from Quinta down Ave. Constituyentes and is a great place to buy a fresh fruit drink or for breakfast, order the fruit with yogurt at half the price of the places on Quinta.
