Absolutely wonderful restaurant! Me and my girlfriend went there just couple of hours ago. We had the duck pate for starter (!!!!!!!!! NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE) and for main course my gf had the Fettucini of Quail (Quail was a bit dry, but the pasta was tremendous) and I had the Crispy Salmon which was the best salmon I've ever... more

We picked this because of the reviews on this site. As we were approaching, the manager or owner said, "Oh, I have you table right here, and my Grandmother's cooking in the kitchen!" We started off with french onion soup, and escargo both were very good. My daughter had the spring rolls, they were to die for, my husband had... more

During the week we were in Playa del Carmen, we ate at a minimum of 10 different restaurants and La Palette definately had the best food. Allejandro, the "puller" was great! The service was excellent, as was the atmosphere! The salmon, lobster and vegetarian torte were great as were the desserts, especially crepe suzettes, chocolate cake and some type of... more

The "puller" (jalero) has an entertaining, but not overly aggressive, line about his grandmother cooking the food. My wife and I decided to give it a try. The food and the service were fantastic! What do you want from a bistro? Excellent appetizers, including escargot and foie gras, and solid main plates, especially steak frites and grilled fish. This place... more

We too stayed at the Alhambra and after bantering with the owner of La Palette for several evenings as we walked to and from the hotel, we decided to have dinner there one night. It was a great evening! The decor was hip and fun, the food was delicious, but what really made it extra special was visiting with Alex... more

I was really looking forward to this restaurant after reading the reviews but unfortunately, I was disappointed. The service was fine but the food was just not very good. I absolutely love duck confit and ordered it here as a result. Neither my husband nor I thought it was very good. The same goes for the French onion soup, again... more

After reading the reviews, we were hoping for a good french meal.. well it was very disapointing from star to end. - Service was very poor (long and nobody spoke a minimum level of english) - Poor wine list - Food was just above a Bigmac, bad plate presentation - Place is nice $200 US Dollars/4.. we expected something much... more

I took my girlfriend to La Palette for Valentines night & had booked it from the UK prior to leaving for Mexico, on the basis of what I'd read on trip adviser. I have to admit the food was both delicious & very well presented. The service was very good generally. My main gripe however, was that with it being... more

LA PALETTE... THE LEFT BANK COMES TO PLAYA DEL CARMEN!! Who knew that in the center of PDC there is a gem of a French restaurant offering wonderful classic fare? Gallic to its core, this warm-weather, white tablecloth, authentic bistro offers an alternative to the plethora of Playa Del Carmen restaurants offering all types of cuisines. La Palette, located at... more

All in all, this is a great place to eat. We stayed at a hotel a few doors down (the Alhambra) and might never have eaten at La Palette. But in the end we could not resist the owner's hilarious attempts to lure us in with claims that his 130 year old grandmother was cooking that night. A more genuinely... more
