An interesting menu and good food and wine. Not too expensive. Lovely paintings and patio and a cosy fireplace for the fall and winter.
This was an excellent place to have lunch. Contrary to some other vineyards we ate at (hgmmmm... Quails Gate....) this place gave perfect sized portions, superb quality food, and great bang for your buck. Would not hesitate to eat there again and highly recommend it even if you're not a wine drinker. Definitely worth the scenic 10 minute drive from... More
We were on a wine tour of the Naramata Bench and we had been to 5 wineries before we stopped at Hillside Estate Bistro for lunch with our tour guide. It was not too busy, as it was the Wednesday( Oct 2 213) just a couple of days before the Wine Festival started. The three of us all started with... More
Didn't think of dinner until late. Glad to see that they were still open. Headed to dinner after a quick visit to the tasting room. Dinner was pleasantly surprising. Very glad we (reluctantly) had dessert. It was terrific. We enjoyed ourselves very much.
This wine festival event at the winery/bistro was a four course meal preceded by canapés. The Rose wine was a surprise to someone who rarely lies this type - it was so good that we purchased a couple of bottles. The canapés were delicious and well presented. The four mains were equally well prepared and very tasty. They were well... More
Was in search of an interesting winery with delicious food and was not disappointed. Great location and friendly service. Ordered the Brie appetizer and almost died when I tasted it- ridiculously good and well matched with my wine choice. Found some of the wineries leading up to hillside a little pretentious but was pleasantly surprised with our choice.
Four of us went for a simple, light dinner on a Sunday evening and we had a very good dinner, with excellent service and very good food. The wine list is a little short but the Cabernet Franc was good and we sample a couple of others that were good as well. We recommend going here. We've had lunch on... More
We especially like the informal atmosphere at the Hillside Winery and Bistro. The staff were particularly friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. The pork cheecks with gorgonzola pecans, apple, endive and maple sauce was excellent as was the lemon sponge dessert.
Four of us showed up for dinner late one evening without reservations. We were promptly seated on the patio (by request) even though it was a cool evening – the patio has a heater lamp and allows for a nice view of the old bell tower; we were given blankets by our waitress to stave off the fall chill in...
