Having been to Murchie's (very expensive) and hearing about how over rated the Empress' afternoon tea is (very expensive and not very good), we decided to give the White Heather a try. First of all, it should be noted that even our taxi driver drove by the White Heather a couple of times as the restaurant is tucked into the... more

The atmosphere and the quality of the food is unsurpassed for an English Tea house. What a treasure for Victoria. It deserves the #1 spot. more

This small, popular, unpretentious establishment still serves the best high tea for the money in town. At about $21 per person, the Big Muckle tea includes three layers of delicious morsels, all described enthusiastically by a friendly employee. Smaller tea options are also available. The tea selection is impressive as well. One of our party opted for lunch instead, and... more

My daughter and I recently took our son's girlfriend to White Heather for a "getting to know you" tea time - her first. We all wanted to make good first impressions, and this was the perfect spot for us to feel special and yet relax. The knowledgeable and gracious staff (Elsie) put all at ease. Reading between the lines, she... more

Had high tea here the other day and came away quite happy with the whole experience. It's about half the cost of the Fairmont Empress and just as good. There were 3 of us and we all split the Big Muckle and Not-So Wee platters. The sandwiches consisted of minced ham salad, smoked salmon, and cucumber with cream cheese and... more

There may be other teas, but I'm not sure they're better teas. White Heather doesn't have the impressive elegance of the Empress, but if you're looking for a wonderful afternoon tea served with warmth, White Heather's the place. Every bite was spectacularly tasty, and all beautifully presented. And, with leftovers for dinner, we could experience it all over again. more

My husband and I were staying at Fairholme Manor and saw the Tripadvisor rating of this tea room and I talked my husband into trying it. It is a very girly, small, cute place but worth the trip. At first my husband was pretty uncomfortable being the only man in the place but luckily 4-5 men walked in with their wives w/in... more

I took my mom, sister, and daughter for tea after reading the reviews here and was not disappointed. In April I had tea at the Empress with my family, which is a nice experience and great atmosphere, but the White Heather Tea Room has much better food for half the price ($41 for 2 people and I believe the Empress... more

Victoria was a stop on one of our cruises and knowing we would have a car, I researched afternoon tea. The White Heather Tea Room was highly recommended in various sites and reservations were advised. Arriving in the door, we found the place pretty empty (it was 3 pm mid week) and smelled a bit of cleaning materials. The place... more
