We did the fixed price dinner in early August. Oysters first, and caribou for the entre. Wow. It was SO good I want to go to deeper into Canada and get one myself. But my guess is the Rim Rock preparation had considerable influence over how good it was. Portion was not big, but it sure was tasty. more

What can you say about a restaurant that offers 3 courses for $49CAN? Sounds interesting. When each of those courses can be picked from about a dozen fabulous options? Sounds very interesting. And in the end it works just great. Our table of four selected quite a wide variety of the options - no duplications here. We were uniformly impressed... more

A 2009 summer visit with our two college-age sons from Northern California brought us to the Rim Rock Cafe, outside of Whistler Village. Three-course meals all around accompanied by a fine bottle of Canadian Chardonnay. Gnocci at $4 per bite? $18 for a miniature beet salad? Both were wonderful, according to my wife, but nowhere near Bouchon quality for the... more

This is the essense of Whistler. Restaurant is in a slightly worn cabin with mis matching tables, fireplaces and a wooden floor. If you are looking for silver service (and a maitre de with a tie!) this is not the place to come. If you are looking for world class finely crafted food this is The place to come. I... more

Coming from Europe (Amsterdam) and well acquainted with the very best (Micheline star) quality we were totally amazed and delighted at the quality of the Rimrock. The Oysters Rasputin were sublime! We had the specials and they were truly outstanding - one with salmon and crab, and one with hailibut and truffels. Both quality and presentation were perfect. The price... more

You will hear rave reviews of this place when you are in Whistler. It misses by a wide mark. A few examples: 1) The Maitre'd wasn't wearing a tie (ala Sizzler!) 2) There is a tee shirt concession in the restaurant's entry which provides the hungry diner the choice of a wide variety of Rim Rock tee shirts. 3) The... more

We have eaten at The Rim Rock many times and its always great. It is the busiest restaurant in Whistler so make sure to reserve. Even during the slow season as this is the favourite restaurant of most locals too. more
