I live in St. John's, and have been to the Gypsy Tea Room many times, both in their old and new locations, both on Water Street. It's a shame that this restaurant just can't seem to live up to its potential. The building is beautiful, the menu is outstanding, the service is lousy and the food is hit or miss.... more

Wonderful food, great service (friendly but not intrusive). The blackened salmon was wonderful. The brie in phyllo appetizer was also a highlight. Good wine list. lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone. more

Went here for brunch recently with two others. There was not a lot to choose from on the brunch menu if you wanted lunch. I had the best piece of Blackened Salmon I have ever had, anywhere. The appetizers are great especially the tempura shrimp. I will be back...Soon! more

The new Gypsy Tea Room now resides in what used to be the liquor store in the historic Murray Premises. They did a very nice job with the renovation and it is a lovely restaurant and bar.
