Very busy and helpful staff. Huge portions from a standardised menu. Smaller choice with perhaps more in house cooking would have been better It was however extremely popular and they did well to cope so efficiently with the demand for takeaways and restaurant meals.

I ate there this week for the second time and the meal was exceptional. The portions were great and the prices amazing. You buy your beer or wine from the coop next door and then they supply the glasses so that certainly helps with the price. Nice staff, lovely food and it a lovely village.

Excellent varied menu, with a good number of speciality dishes. Everything tastes freshly cooked and portion sizes are generous. Great fresh Poppadoms and pickle tray starts the meal off well, We liked the Chicken tikka Rogan Josh, Chicken tikka Jalfrezi , the Vindaloo is very hot but still manages to retain good favours. Very friendly staff, and reasonable prices, this... More

I've visited this restaurant several times and found it great - service is warm without being pushy, and the food is very good. Poppadoms are freshly cooked and the naan bread is excellent, particularly the coriander naan. On our latest visit we ordered a variety of dishes and found everything delicious. Portions are on the generous side so be careful... More

Having spent over 4 years in South India, an authentic curry is an essential fix. We stopped at Holgates for a few weeks and couldnt believe our luck when we found this restaurant. Though they were not licensed, on booking I was invited to bring my own drinks and there was no corkage charge. There is a Co-op next door... More

We have been here 3 times now, once for New Years Eve, again for a freind birthday and recentley again with freinds for our Birthdays. We have never been disapointed, the food is excellent, cooked fresh to order. This time we had the set meal for 4 and at £50.00 ish is amazing value at just £12.50 per person. 4... More
