Having celebrated my birthday at The Swan in May 2011 we returned yesterday for the first time. Whilst the food was great (full roast beef with all the trimmings) and syrup sponge & custard for dessert - it wasn't a very relaxing meal. We were seated near the bar area, where locals were enjoying their Sunday pint, it was loud... More

We felt welcome as soon as we entered the inn, the open fire was going and the mulled wine was gorgeous. The food was divine, and the decor was lovely and homely. My partner is one of the fussiest people I have ever met when it comes to food, and for once there was not a single complaint, the steak... More

We ate at the Swan three times and found it to be a welcoming pub with a good choice of local bitter well above average food. More

Thank you for your very kind words, and for taking the time out to write a review on our Tripadvisor page. I'm glad you were pleased with our bitter selection. We do try and make sure we always have 2 house ales on, as well as 3 guest ales, so we have a good variety to choose from. We hope... More

Booked a Saturday evening early dinner for a family get together comprising 8 adults plus an 17 month old (4 generations). The staff were attentive and amenable and made us feel welcome. The quality and quantity of food was excelllent. A bonus was the large car park. We will definitely return. More

We booked a meal for my wife’s 40th Birthday at The Swan. We have visited before, loved it and decided it would be a good venue for our celebration. Upon arriving in the 30ft Limo we had hired the first thing the staff did was find us space to park it and welcomed us in. we had drinks in the... More

Enjoyed our visit to the Swan. The staff were friendly & the service good. The food was enjoyed by all four of us & there was a good selection for my husband who is a Vegetarian. He especially liked the Adnams beer battered onion rings which he couldn't resist having gone on a brewery tour there. The portions were probably over generous as... More

I went to the Swan in Hoxne with friends. The owners are not the warmest of people and the bar staff have no idea how to welcome visitors pleasantly. When our food arrived it tasted disgusting. I have worked in the catering industry and know Rancid oil when i smell it. They argued and became incredibly rude & defensive. They... More

Dear Sir/Madam, Many thanks for your review, however we are somewhat confused by it. It appears that the supposed incident took place over 11 months ago, and it seems strange that it would take you so long to write a review. My husband and I who are landlords here at The Swan, have no recollection of this incident taking place,... More

Well worth a little detour if you're in the area. We were on our way to a wedding and popped in for lunch. Fantastic steak and ale pie, with huge hunks of lovely beef. Really nice oldy worldy pub with good ale too. More
