Booked a table online for a Sunday. Seated and given menus. After nearly half an hour no one came to take our order, not even for drinks. Staff standing behind bar sometimes doing nothing! Couldn't catch their eye. We left and went elsewhere where service...was much better and we finally got dinner food!More
Had a lovely over night stay here Room was beautiful very quirky , cleaned to a high standard . Food was so delicious. Sharona and her team are so lovely. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone you won’t be disappointed.
From the outside when we first arrived we thought whoa this is going to be noisy. Broad Leys is on a busy main road with a garage on one side and a police station on the other. However we were pleasantly surprised when we entered...the bar. Sympathetically restored with a lot of original features giving an overall feel of warmth and welcome. We were led to a quiet, quirky room with a separate entrance at the side of the pub. By all accounts all the rooms are quirky and pleasant. First off room 3 has low ceilings. Over 5ft 8in you will be in a permanent stoop. There are stairs that lead to an upstairs bathroom with a large comfortable copper bath, sink and toilet. Luckily at night there are sensor light’s which come on as you go up the stairs. The thing that lets the room down are the mattresses. The first mattress was desperate, it was completely kaput and the staff kindly changed it over for one that was slightly better. What made our stay were the staff. Sharona, Chloe and the team could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. When we pointed out about the mattress they didn’t make us feel awkward they just did their best to sort it. Great hospitality and if we are ever in your area again we will not hesitate to stay.More
We booked our work Christmas meal for the Wednesday lunchtime the week before Christmas. The supervisor, Chloe, was very friendly and accomdating. All our meals, for every course, arrived together (we were a group of 14) and service was prompt. The food was excellent and...the portion sizes were good. The atmosphere was very relaxed and all the staff were polite, helpful and happy. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. It was a lovely way to chill out and get ready for Christmas. We look forward to our next visit. We reccomend this venue very highly.More

What an amazing place ! We stayed overnight in room 1. Comfortably bed, beautiful room with very lovely furniture. Nice size bathroom with bath and very powerful over bath shower. Very clean. Very happy with our stay. There was even a little fridge with a...bottle of fresh milk for teas and coffee. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, I had eggs royal and my daughter had full English - apple juice and coffee. Check in was easy, we got there around 9.30 pm. Very welcoming staff. We even left one car there for the day. We had an early evening meal ( party of 6) before travelling home and we all enjoyed our meals. I would absolutely recommend this place !More
This hotel experienced a flood very recently but that is not the reason for this revue we checked in and was given room 5 well you come outside the reception around a corner the up a stair case we’re the carpet was very dirty and...would need a good cleaner put on it, then into the room which is very small as you go in the shower in in the bedroom with plain glass around it no privacy, look at the head board and on the right of it it’s in a mess, with parts missing, no walldrobe but a hanging rail, and the toilet is a smaller room within a room it was small we asked for a change of room and we’re given room 1 well what a difference I would only recommend rooms one and two. With regards to breakfast you get one sausage one egg half a tomato a hash brown with the smallish ramakin of beans better to have left them off. And all for a cost of £128. Not the best value around so beware, it’s not all it looks. The staff were good and changed our room,More
Went in for Sunday roast last week and all I can say I wow! The food was the best I’ve tried in the area by far and the portion size pushed it over the top, left very full and would highly highly recommend to anyone...will definitely be returningMore
Excellent room. Lovely accommodation. Chloe was brilliant- showed us to the room and explained everything. Really enthusiastic. Breakfast great too.
Lovely warm welcome, very dog friendly inside & outside 😊 (treats & water bowls kindly given without having to ask for them) Staff are really friendly and really efficient. Food is great, very generous portions! Not too busy on a Wednesday lunch time, just as...we like it. I really like the decor, it has a bit of a steam punk vibe to it! In the sunshine great outside area, with both covered and open seating areas.More
Came in to have drinks. Queued at bar. Didn’t go to the usual side we order because there was a lady wearing a Wedding Dress (on a Thursday eve🤷♂️) so assumed it was a private booking and didn’t want to intrude. We waited and waited...and when a female member of staff came near we asked if they served this side. She declared that she would once she’d served everyone that side. I pointed out that we’d be waiting longer than some of them and she said ‘well I can’t see you so I wouldn’t know” the fact the poor girl was on her own with around 10 people waiting for drinks another member of staff really should have stepped in. We decided to leave as we’d be quicker getting a drink up the road. The young lady suggested we rejoin the back of the queue… no thank you. We had already waited long enough. Not the first time I’ve been disappointed here. I guess you could say you are consistent… Consistently poor!More
OK if you like artificial gravy but not if you like steak or ale. Or pie (I think it was actually encased in cardboard). I did find two pieces of meat the size of small sugar cubes but that was it
Terrible service, terrible food, dull vibes! Ordered steak medium came nuked! Double well done! Sea bass fishy and slimy! Staff about 6 years old! Unable to make simple cocktails! One person behind bar with 10 people waiting for a drink! No music, dirty tables! Sandwiched...between the local police station and a esso garage! Would not bother! You’re better off going to McDonaldsMore
