The best experience ever, we were lucky to have been given vouchers as presents for such a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived the service was exceptional, the front of house staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. The tasting menu was superb, the presentation...and flavours were fantastic, great wine menu, we chose a lovely English wine from Stopham Vineyard from our home county of Sussex The highlight of our trip was the opportunity to meet Daniel and his team with a visit to the kitchen, where we were introduced to the whole team and each station was explained to us. Every course was faultless, presentation wise, every plate added to the visual appeal for that course, the flavours were exceptional and such intriguing combinations. Midsummer house is a must for anyone who loves food, it was lovely to get some recommendations for other restaurants from Daniel and his wife to add to our next choices but I truly believe Midsummer will be the top of our list for a very long time to come. If we ever find ourselves in death row our last meal request will be the taster menu at midsummer house !!! Thanks for a great experience and apologies our review was later than it should have been. We look forward the a return visit some dayMore

This is a wonderful place to have a real treat. We were a big group of 10 friends having a Christmas get together in Cambridge. When this was arranged, they suggested a private room as were a large group. The room was so good to...have and we also had our own waiter, Arthur, who was wonderful and explained all of the many courses we had for the set menu. The food was divine - amazing flavours and presentation. The service was 1st class. We also had the wine flight which allowed us to taste some wines that perhaps we would not have selected and they were all perfectly matched. This has 2 Michelin stars so it not cheap but worth it. Highly recommended.More

A surprise early Christmas present from my husband and our 2nd visit this year. This was a last minute trip and I was extremely excited as our 1st time was such an amazing experience but that also made me a little anxious that it wouldn’t...live up to our memory. We needn’t have worried. Once seated we saw the lovely Katie who gave us a smile and wave though we didn’t think she actually recognised us after 1 visit months ago. She did and came over and greeted us like family along with Konstantinos who even remembered what wine we ordered. Honestly, we were made to feel so special and that’s without mentioning the most fantastic dining experience ever. The food blows your mind without being pretentious and too scientific, every course tastes exactly as it’s described and is luxurious and seasonal. We were treated to another kitchen visit and Mark and the team were as usual delightful. Unfortunately we missed Daniel though he was kind enough to sign my Christmas glass apple and book which I appreciated so much. Honestly the team makes it so much more than a nice meal out and we feel like part of the family. An honour and we can’t wait to go back.More

A not to be forgotten culinary experience. From the moment we stepped over the threshold of the beautiful old House, in itself a wonder to see, to the moment we departed, we experienced the most friendly and professional service and food brought to our table....‘The entire Team’ of Daniel Clifford and Mark Abbot are something for them to be so very proud of and upon asking, they all said they were so very happy working at Midsummer House - that in itself speaks volumes. The food was magnificent (that is truly the only word that comes to mind) - Each course made us gasp with delight! Daniel’s ideas and creations were and are, out of this world - second to none - and his presentation ideas are amazing! This restaurant has everything and so well deserves the 2 Michelin Stars it holds. My Brother and Sister-in-Law are in full agreement with me when I say, it was an eating experience we will never forget! Gillian, Chris and Pam Noakes.More

Wow! What a meal. We went there for our 10th anniversary lunch. To say this went above my expectations is an understatement. Beautiful food, fantastic service. Every detail was thought of. I’m gluten free, and my options were just as good ( even better -...that dessert! 😋) as the regular options. Can’t thank Midsummer house enough! Easily one of ( if not ) the best meals I’ve ever eatenMore

Phenomenal experience, excellent, unassuming, and wonderful find. The only sufficient word I can use to describe our dining experience is " Chapeau ! " I wish to thank everyone involved in the preparation and presentation of the Tasting Menu. It was exceptional in every way...and added so much to our enjoyment of what was a double celebration, my wife's birthday, and our 17th anniversary . Please pass on my special thanks to all concerned. The quality of the ingredients used was incredible good and the dishes were prepared with such a high delicacy. Outstanding plating and amazing new flavours. We definitely need to come back, and you definitely need to try it ! You'll not be disappointed !More

The flavours and variety of the various tiny portions made for an interesting experience although they rely heavily on sorbets and mousses and fine pastry with little fresh vegetable. Staff were attentive after a fashion but it felt scripted and not personal. However, the experience...was spoiled for me by having to go outside in the drizzle to a shed which purported to be a disabled toilet but had a step which I could only navigate with help. I always ask about accessibility when booking and was assured that there was a toilet accessible for a wheelchair. As I had to wheel past three sides of the restaurant (a glass conservatory) it was obvious to the rest of the diners where I was going and made me feel a second-class citizen. Alcohol overpriced.More

Today we called Midsummers to make our long awaited reservation using a gift voucher that was purchased just before lockdown. We made a call earlier this year and we were reassured by a member of staff that given the circumstances there would be no expiry...on the voucher. Today we were told different. Our voucher for £150 was no longer valid. Money spent and we got only a robotic-like voice on the end of the phone telling us we were getting nothing for our £150. Disappointed by the lack of decency and disappointed that we now will never get to experience Daniel Clifford’s amazing cuisine. From 2 former Daniel Clifford fans.More

Simply the most stunning and memorable food and hospitality experience we have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived we were immersed in an amazing atmosphere from the midsummer team who were polite, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the food and drink The food...itself was heaven on a plate. So much attention to detail and a food explosion with every mouthful. I am no wine connoisseur so thoroughly enjoyed the education in what we were drinking and how it complemented the food. We are still talking about the dining experience and will do for a long time. Exquisite from start to finish and a must for everyone. I can see why the restaurant is so highly regarded Can’t wait to go backMore

I strongly suggest you just call the restaurant, they are very helpful. They will book a taxi for you to arrive at the end of your meal. Just get an open ticket for your train.
