Stayed overnight whilst visiting friends nearby, bed was comfortable, however the room was dated and needed an upgrade. Breakfast unbelievably good, with great service.

I returned to the Tollemache Arms for lunch to meet with friends It was excellent, delicious food set in a very relaxing atmosphere, supported by a delightful team who look after you. A real pleasure. it was also excellent value for money. If you have...not tried the food ,you a missing out one one of the best pubs to eat at. Many thanks to all the ' Team' We received a very warm welcome from Annabelle, well looked after by Lewis at table. Martin the Chef who we did not get to meet cooked lovely food. My favourite is the cajun chicken with chips and salad. It was mouth watering. The portion size was excellent. Seriously if you have not tried the Tollemache, make sure you get a date in your diary. Thank you to Annabelle, Lewis, Martin and all the Team. I look forward to seeing you againMore
Fabulous location, comfortable rooms albeit a little tired and dated. Breakfast to die for, great service. Would love the owners to spend to upgrade this fabulous pub/hotel.

I parked overnight in my Motorhome. If you like steak you won’t be disappointed and the staff were excellent. Many thanks all.
If you are even considering going to this place, just decide to go, make sure you book because they can get busy, not overcrowded but busy. This place we just happened to call in on the way back from somewhere but we have been using...this place for a long time now, the people, staff, and customers, are really nice, staff are very helpful and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, no idiots or rowdy people in here. The chef and his crew need a big shout out, the food is amazing, freshly cooked and you know the difference, we just got back from a Sunday lunch and were again very impressed with the quality of food and staff. We haven't stayed overnight here but I can imagine that due to what we have seen and know, this would be a nice place to recharge for the night with no hassles. Don't think about going to this place, just go, you will not be disappointed.More
Having driven past hundreds of times we ventured in with our daughter. I couldn’t fault the place. Welcoming of kids, tidy gardens and play area. Tasty food and good atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend as this pub is one of the few places where you can go...with kids which isn’t a rubbish harvester type. We ate, food was really tasty and drinks range was good.More
Called in today, never been before, We had 2 meals and drinks all good. Bar staff and waitress very friendly, really nice pub, would definitely visit again

What a beautiful venue, we stayed for the night, food was top notch, staff so friendly and helpful, fabulous atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble. Full English breakfast was a nice, delicious surprise too. We will be back. Massive thanks to Dave and the team...10/10More
Myself and my wife have an anniversary tradition, overnight stay at a b&b and then a zoo. This was tyhe stopover for Chester Zoo anniversary trip. It was a blind booking, never heard of or been anywhere near before, but boy this place does NOT...dissapoint. From check in to check out, every staff member we met was courteous and polite, nothing was too much trouble. The food, was fantastic, nothing was wasted, the bar service was very good and nothing was overpriced. The location, while not in the middle of a bustling city centre was set in an area of ( i think ) outstanding natural beauty, green was everywhere to be found. All told, i cannot reccomend this place highly enough, next time we travel this way, this place will be top of the list for stopovers. Book yourself in you wont be dissapointed.More
Arrived at the pub and was quite busy but luckily we had booked. We got drinks and ordered Sunday lunch for everyone. It seemed to take ages and while we were sitting near the kitchen we could here a cook shouting at the waiting staff...to get food out. When it arrived our Sunday dinner looked more like a dogs dinner. The Yorkshire puddings were dark brown and burnt on the edges and were very dry and the roast potatoes looked like they had been fried rather than roasted and quite hard in the middle and the veg was just a mishmash of who knows what. Unfortunately, the lunch was terrible so didn't bother to stop for desserts.More
The staff where really good looked after us as we only called in for lunch but they were very polite and friendly and the food was excellent
The perfect country pub. Excellent service, atmosphere, food and drink. You could ask for nothing more. A great garden with a play area to keep the kids happy, and undercover area to keep me out of the sun, but also a huge grass area where...you can enjoy the sun if that’s your thing. The food we had was flawless, and they catered for my daughter with Coeliac disease (gluten free diet) extremely well. And to top it off my beer was served in a frozen glass. We will return for sure Showing other pubs how it should be done, this is the new standard of excellence Thank youMore
Been here before but this visit will be our last time 1-vegetables over and under cooked 2-Roast potatoes were mushy inside and discoloured inside 3-Yorkshire pudding was dry and crumbly (aunt Bessie) ? 4-Very little processed not carved meat compared to other visits 5-Burger bun...top was hard and shattered when touched by a knife 6-Hardly any salad and relish in bun 7-Coleslaw was very bitter and yellowish in colour 8-Strawberry trifle wasn’t strawberry in flavour a pale orange tasteless jelly (even the table next to ours asked a member of staff if theirs was really strawberry 9-Cheese and crackers without butter is a terrible shame and should never have been served with possibly out of date crackers and a green leaf with vinegary dressing no grapes no apple etcMore
