Food, service and atmosphere all perfect and at a great price too, there is really nothing else to say except I'm looking forward to my next visit.
We visited the Sticky Walnut on a Monday night and were delighted to be in a restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food was awesome. We had a chicken liver pâté with a fabulous brioche toast which was amazing which we shared followed by a chateau briand which was probably the best we have ever... More
This is the fourth time I've been to the Sticky Walnut and it remains one of the 'must-do' restaurants in Chester. The food is amazing, the staff are really attentive and there is a great atmosphere within this small but cosy restuarant. This is not the place to go to if you want large portions but if you like food... More

We live a short walk away from this restaurant in the Hoole area of Chester and have eaten there frequently over the past two years. It has never disappointed and chef/proprietor Gary, trained at the Chester Grosvenor and Chez Bruce, London, is greatly to be congratulated on maintaining a consistently high standard. The bistro style restaurant has a happy buzz... More
I booked this restaurant well in advance as I could not get in last year. Yes you really do need to book well early. We were not disappointed with the service or the meal. The staff were polite and looked after us with a smile and made us feel at home. The menu isn't huge but there is enough to... More
Sea Bream Ceviche - Roast Beef - Sticky Toffee Pudding & Praline Parfait Viognier, Carignan Fantastic Sunday Lunch - 3 courses for £20 - not sure how anyone can argue that this isn't excellent value? Especially when you take into account the free entertainment from Sticky's twitterfeed & occasional responses to cantankerous reviewers... We loved it.
We had yet another amazing meal at the Sticky Walnut last night. The artichoke soup was silky smooth and my starter of roast pumpkins, goats curd and pine nuts was wonderfully tasty. My husband and I ordered the stone bass, and when our wine arrived he mentioned to the lovely waitress that he had been looking forward to trying the... More
Had lunch with friends after recommendation from a guy who sold us a load of wine (jolly day out). It is not cheap, but for the quality of food is good value. Although taste is fine dining some of the presentation was a bit less so - but who cares if the food tastes brilliant? Service brisk and cheery. Not... More
