Excellent food and service. But this is nothing compared to the view from the front window. Look out for the lunchtime set menus, brilliant value.
We enjoyed another first rate 3 course lunch at Taylor's of Dartmouth today with a beautiful view from the windows of the restaurant. We started off with a terrine of guinea fowl, venison, pork & Parma ham that was delicious. The mains of pan fried hake with a cream & crab sauce/confit of duck with a plum & whiskey sauce... More
small & friendly with fantastic view overlooking harbour ..Food is top class & not over priced a definite must visit if going to Dartmouth...
Had a lovely meal at this restaurant last night. Very good service, with some great sea food. The restaurant was warm, friendly, nice back ground music and great decor. My wife and I had a lovely evening. Thank you!
...shame about the lack of flavour, my roast beetroot starter hardly had any beetroot in it and the hakes sauce was watery, and what about those tiny chairs? How does this have 4.5 stars?
Sir, You really should have mentioned your dissatisfaction with your meal at the time instead of paying for what you clearly weren’t happy with, leaving the restaurant and making your complaint after the event. We have run Taylor’s for 14 years and strive very hard to give diners quality meals and obviously sometimes mistakes do happen. We are only human.... More
We enjoyed another excellent 3 course set menu today for lunch at Taylor's Restaurant in Dartmouth. The potted crab pâté had a spicy kick to it and was the perfect starter. Our mains both served with individual dishes of vegetables were oven roast hake with a tasty prawn & lobster butter cream sauce and a confit of duck with a... More
We were lucky to get a table in the window on both occasions we visited (we'd booked). Service was good, pleasant and efficient. The food was good, not outstanding but better than many places and vegetables were properly cooked. Small but OK wine list. We returned with friends at lunchtime later in the week and were a bit disappointed to... More
After three visits over as many years, the food served in this pretty old fashioned restaurant varies from simply marvellous to "should I send it back". Dover Sole cooked brilliantly but prawns and scallops overcooked. Service could be better as some of the staff can be quite rude.
At Taylors we enjoyed the best meal we have had in Dartmouth having visited over a number of years. The fish and seafood were outstanding in quality and presentation, the service was excellent and our river view table and the pleasant ambience made for an excellent evening. We will return and can confidently recommend Taylor's to anyone looking for an excellent fish or... From the outside, a very unassuming place. What a pleasant surprise when you go upstairs. Food and service were quite simply, top-notch! We are not usually big fish fans but the meal we enjoyed in Taylor's has changed that! Brilliant!
