Took our elderly parents there on a wet and windy November Sunday for lunch. We didn't want a large bustling environment and the small cafaurant fitted the bill perfectly. I'm very surprised by the previous reviews as my experience of this cafe was very different. We visited on a couple of occassions, once at lunchtime on Wedneday 14th October, then again mid morning on Friday 16th October. The location of this cafe is lovely and we were expecting a wholesome lunch. The meal is paid for before it arrives. My husband ordered steak & ale pie, I ordered a cheese & tomato toastie. The meat in the pie looked as though it had been sitting on the shelf uncovered for days. It was dry without any gravy.... more

We recently visited Lynton and were pleased to see an award winning cafe/restaurant near the railway going down to Lynmouth. There was a dog in the cafe which was barking quite loudly but we still went in for something to eat. The small tables are quite squashed together but the four of us managed to sit down.
